Just how bad is our football team this year?

Postby algoldendomer » October 1st, 2013, 12:17 pm

Our three wins are against 0-4 Temple (and not convincingly!), 1-4 Purdue (who got blown out by Northern Illinois), and a MSU team that's been feasting on D-3 teams. The losses are to Michigan (who barely escaped winless and now coach-less Connecticut) and Oklahoma, the only arguably good team we've faced.

So the question is - in Brian Kelly's fourth year - just how bad are we this year? This team might be the worst Irish team since Weis won three games. No, seriously.

ASU might just hang 50 on our slow, overweight, confused defense. And with Tommy Turnover at the helm, there's a 50/50 chance he throws more TD passes to the Sun Devils than to the dudes in the ugly uniforms.

Brian Kelly, you shoulda gone to the NFL when you had the shot. We are sorely in need of a top-tier D-1 coach, and (12-1 notwithstanding), Brian Kelly is looking less and less "top tier" every week.

how much of this is because of the unexpected departure of QB? hopefully next year will be the year!
