Time to reflect, regroup, and move forward

Darwin, Aug 13: Australia vice captain, Shane Watson has expressed that the team should put the loss against England behind them and focus on the upcoming tour of UAE, as they are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals against Pakistan.
England thrashed Australia 4-0 in the ODI series held in the month of July, which has put a lot of pressure on the Australians to perform.
Shane Watson, having witnessed such a ODI whitewash, feels that the on-going camp ahead of the series against Pakistan would help the team reassess and regroup well.
"Obviously we're very disappointed about the result in England in the one-day series," said Watson.
"Now's the time to really regroup and spend the time working on the deficiencies we've got as individuals and within the team," he added.
Since the tour of UAE is followed by World T20 in September, Watson feels the series against Pakistan would help them get back to winning ways and help them to prepare well for the T20 World Cup.
Moreover, Australia's season has already started, with the Pak series and T20 World Cup coming up, they need to tour South Africa, Sri Lanka and India in the coming months, which also suggests that this series will help them practice and prepare for the rest of the season.
"It's a perfect lead-in really to be able to get ourselves in a great position as a team. Hopefully everything can come together in the summer as a great launching pad into the Ashes next year," said Watson.
Watson, who had to cut his England tour short due to a calf injury said he was on the road to recovery and would be back soon.
"Over the next few days I'll be back into the full swing of things," said Watson. "It's been a pretty frustrating time but I'm continuing to adapt what I'm doing and slightly change what I'm doing to stay fit for a period of time. By the end of the camp I should be up to full capacity."
Though Watson is recovering well, awaits his return to the national side as he has been rested for the ODI series against Pakistan while he is expected to join the team for the T20s and the T20 World Cup.
